Considering that the IATF already lifted the non-essential travel ban to Filipinos last July 7, 2020, we are sharing with you a trivia about TRAVEL TAX which you need to include in your out of the country costing.
If you travel abroad regularly, you're probably aware that you need to pay this tax before you can fly out of the Philippines.

"A Travel Tax from all citizens of the Philippines, permanent resident aliens and non-immigrant aliens who have stayed in the Philippines for a period of not less than one (1) year shall be collected (PRESIDENTIAL DECREE No. 1183)."
But, the following are exempted from paying this:
- Filipino citizens who are permanent residents abroad - Balikbayan visitors who have stayed in the Philippines for less than a year - Overseas Filipino contract workers - Others as enumerated under the PD No. 1183
So, how much is the tax? It depends on your ticket. If you have a first-class ticket, you'll pay P 2,700 while P 1,620 for economy or business-class tickets.
Can I get a tax refund? Yes, if your flight was cancelled, your exempted but you paid, your ticket was downgraded from first-class to economy-class, you paid twice or you were offloaded from your flight.
It's nice to know these facts about the tax, but we hope you are not traveling any time soon abroad. Please cancel that trip and stay home to avoid the virus. You'll get that tax refund, if you already paid.
